CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

If you’ve never practiced yoga before, a Beginner/Gentle class is a safe place to start. Vinyasa Flow is also an ok place to start too, but be sure to approach the experience with an open mind and heart, and leave your judgements and expectations behind for the most success. Letting the teacher know it’s your first time is helpful so they can show you a couple of modifications and resting poses that may come in handy. This is some of the information you would get from a Beginner/Gentle class. Powerflow (don’t let the title scare you away) is more achievable than you may think, but do be cautious and above all else please listen to your body.

Yoga Basics: Yoga Basics focuses on the nuances of Yoga practice including alignment, technique and philosophy. Anticipate clear descriptions and lengthy explanations of poses, breathing techniques and centering techniques. Building a strong foundation in all types of poses will be emphasized, and how to come into and out of the poses safely and gracefully, making this class accessible and valuable to both the beginner and the advanced practitioner.

Morning Flow: It’s early, so we’ll start off gently, waking and warming the body; joyfully welcoming a brand new day. This class is suitable for all levels, and students should come with open minds and hearts, ready for subtle challenges.

Gentle Vinyasa: This class welcomes people of all levels and abilities. AM sequences will gently open the body, stimulating and awakening the practitioner for a new day. PM sequences will be more soothing and calming for the nervous system, preparing one for an easeful centered evening after practice. Both morning and evening practices will lengthen and tone muscles providing a complete gentle yoga class.

Gentle Vinyasa with Meditation: This class is the same format as Gentle Vinyasa with time for meditation at the end. The first part of the class will be a complete vinyasa yoga class appropriate for the participants. After savasana (relaxation), students will be lead into a 15 minute guided meditation. This class is great for individuals looking to start a meditation practice, or those who are looking for inspiration or guidance in their current practice.

Powerflow: Beginning with breath awareness, moving gradually to a more intense flow of standing and balancing poses with power and grace, you’ll sweat, breathe, and learn to just be as you rinse and refresh your entire being. Variations are offered to accommodate all body types and abilities… so challenge yourself, you'll be amazed what you can do!

Level 2/3 Yoga: Emphasizing holding the poses longer, moving to advanced variations appropriate for the individual, with a focus on inversions. This class will challenge your balance and strength, as well as focus your concentration both in poses and in meditation. Encourage yourself to a new level of your practice!

Kundalini Yoga: Brought from India by Yogi Bhajan, this yoga is the discipline of the power of awareness. Using postures, breath and mantra to relax the nervous and endocrine systems, allowing rejuvenation and expansion. Beginning with light yoga to prepare the body, moving into one of the hundreds of mediations, and ending with relaxation.
